STORING SMALL ITEMS: If you can not make it in for pickup and the items are small and fit on a standard shelf we will store them for you for an additional week at no cost to you. Each additional week past the first stored week will be billed at 50 cents per lot per week.WE DO NOT ASK US TO STORE LARGE ITEMS, BULK LOTS, ASIS LOTS or PALLETS: We do not do this, anything the size of a chair or bigger that is not in a flat packed box we can not store. If you can not make it in to pick up larger items please do not bid on them. Pallets, Bulk lots and ASIS larger lots MUST be picked up by FRIDAY after the auction closes. A handling and possibly a disposal fee will be applied to your account if you are not able to come get these lots. if you can not make it in please do not bid on these larger lots, most will NOT fit into a car in one trip either so please bring an appropriate vehicle and able body person or persons to load your items. Items must be hand loaded as we do not have a fork lift. If you have a power tailgate truck as can use the pump cart.
CONDITIONS OF ITEMS: We receive TRUCK LOADS of product shipped to us BULK in most cases in large Pallet Boxes. Sometimes they are shipping all nice and neat others things are just thrown in. We do our best to let you know what we think the condition of the item is. We DO NOT thoroughly test everything but we do give you a chance to return the item if you find an issue with it unless you buy an item marked here asis where the item or items are as they are with no return option as we feel they need a part or a repair. We look at HUNDREDS of items every week so yes, we do miss things. Sometimes it works out great for the bidder and sometimes it does not (and a return is needed). It is not cost effective for us to test every item one by one thoroughly and sell by auction so we often just look it over quickly to determine if it is saleable, sometimes we plug stuff that looks used in and turn it on if the listing says tested working we have done so. This is how we can actually afford to sell this stuff for such a great deal and we fully expect some items to come back from time to time. We do our best to add info to the descriptions when and where we can. We may get a model number wrong so look carefully at the photos as we are human and we make mistakes but we never do it purposely. We want happy bidders that come back every week.TERMS WE USE TO DESCRIBE CONDITION…
FACTORY SEALED: This means we looked it over and feel the item is still sealed from the factory. It could still have damage to the packaging from shipping but it remains sealed and should be factory fresh inside and not handled.
NEW: This means we quickly looked it over and we do not see any signs of wear or usage. It could have been handled, tried on, store display, a open box, box damaged in shipping, a unused returned item, a shelf pull, overstock liquidation, someone in the store opened the box and did not purchase it or could even be factory sealed. Any flaw that we see we will mention and or show in the photos however unless stated please do not expect a retail box package in perfect condition we get them but its uncommon but that’s why your saving so much when you buy this stuff from auction.
OVERSTOCK: This means the item is either END OF LIFE often a company has a NEW model and the old models are cleared off shelves and replaced or they have too many in stock taking up valuable storage so they liquidate this. Overstock items are expensive to purchase compared to salvage returns but the quality is the best you can get for liquidation so we try our best to acquire overstock when we can.
MISSGUIDED FREIGHT: This means it got lost in transit, it may be a return item that had in improper tag but most likely it was a brand new item sent to the wrong address. The big companies do not unpack these and put them back into inventory, they simply liquidate all mislabeled and misguided freight. We try to acquire this liquidation category as well and is why we often do have a few used items and a some returns and why we sell off the ASIS bins as well as a lot of this goes to the ASIS bulk lots.
USED: This means we looked it over and determined that we feel it has been used, shows signs of wear or use. If not sold asis then it will describe any issues or notable damage or missing parts that we notice.
ESTATE or CONSIGNOR ITEM: This means the item is pre-owned and comes from a estate or a consignor brought the item in for us to sell for them. Most antiques, collectables, pre made furniture and vintage items are estate items.
ASIS: We look over the items before putting them into the auction, if we notice something missing or broken we often sell it ASIS and describe what is wrong. Sometimes a item is returned to us as well and we will put these in bulk ASIS lots or list them asis with details of what is wrong or missing.
VALID REASONS FOR RETURNING ITEMS
If you do find an issue with an item and wish to return an item because of one of the following reasons..
- Not as described
- Broken or Damaged and the photos or the listing did not mention or clearly show the issues
- Missing a vital part
- We said it was adult size but its youth (visa versa)
You have 7 DAYS from PICKUP (Some listings may indicate a limited 24 hour window from payment – these are consignment items and only have 24 hours as oppose to 7 days as well ASIS listings have no return)
Simply click the CONTACT US button in the menu to open a SUPPORT TICKET and let us know the lot number and what is wrong.
You will then have 2 weeks to return the item (on a pickup day). If you are past the 24 hours or 7 days the item can not be returned so PLEASE check the items when you get them home. If the lot says 24 hours this is a consignors item who only is offering 24 hours to issue a return if you find any issues. This means you ONLY have 24 hours from the time it is PAID for as we freeze the payouts to the consignor for 24 hours only. Once a consignor is paid we have ZERO recourse and neither do you. If you have us store the items this forfeits the warranty for the 24 hours ones. With the 7 day ones you usually have 7 days from the time it is picked up as they are either regular consignors or supplier listings.
We do not take returns for the following reasons..
- Did not fit right
- Was not the size I thought it was (includes pet items)
- Can not figure out how to work it
- Bid too much (Buyers remorse or Changed Mind)
- Thought it was something else
- Etc…
Pallets and skids or anything listed ASIS or AS FOUND have no return allowance. We do not cover BATTERIES (More details about batteries below).
WE ARE THE MIDDLE PERSON IN THE TRANSACTION: The auction house works for both the consignor and the buyer. The consignor pays a commission and the buyers pay a buyers premium (Also known as a finders fee) for facilitating the transaction. Sometimes we purchase stock directly and for that stuff we can be a lot more accommodating for stored items for the 24 hour guarantee however once a consignor is paid out neither you or us have any recourse with the consignor so please check your items when you get them home. We want happy bidders and no one should be stuck with an item that does not work or has unmentioned damage.
CONDITION OF BOXES & PACKAGES: Unless stated please expect all packages and boxes to have some sort of distress or damage to them as they are not always shipped to us all neat and tidy and often they have been opened during shipping or in a retail store (people like to open a box and look into it then purchase a sealed box leaving the open box in the store, if you wonder what happens to that box it shows up at a place like this). If a box is perfect and factory packaged we will mention that if not mentioned the box may have damaged corners, holes, tears, labels cut off or torn off, taped up, etc.. This is only really important to resellers who have stores and people wanting to gift an item to someone. Most of us will take the discount on the new item in trade of a beat up box.
USE OF STOCK PHOTOS: At times we use stock photos of images for the main photo and sometimes the additional photos when needed. We try our best to be as accurate as we can be. Color, Model and design can often be slightly different then the stock photos. Also the stock photos may contain props for staging the photo that are not included with the lot. For instance a bookshelf may show books or plants on it, the listing is for a bookshelf the plants or books are not included unless mentioned in the descriptions. Color could be different especially with Factory Sealed items and we do mention it when we know it is different. The stock photos are used so you can identify what the product is from the images instead of a cardboard box, a flat packed item or sealed packaging that hides what the product should look like.
BATTERIES: Due to the nature of this business when dealing with Batteries they often have a shelf life and is often a reason why products are liquidated as they come pre packaged with batteries and the battery recommended shelf life has or is expiring. The items can be brand new but the batteries originally packaged with the items will no longer hold a charge or will not last past the manufacture warranty period so they are liquidated. Batteries may not hold charge, may be expired or may not be included but the packaging says they are. This includes rechargeable batteries. On used goods and estate items rechargeable batteries may not hold a full charge or may not charge at all and may need to be replaced. Batteries are not covered under our return policy.
AUCTION vs RETAIL STORE: Retail stores in most cases sell factory packaged new items and allow returns for various reasons such as the fit was not right or the color not right or defective. Because of this that LOSS the store takes by doing this is worked into the price you pay for the items and those returned items usually go to auction. In most cases the items are still new and nothing wrong with them so you can purchase the same item at an auction usually for MUCH MUCH less than the retail price at a store. Sometimes you must be patient to find the item by auction as unlike a store auctions have little or no control over the inventory they receive. Savings by auction are huge! Most auctions hope to get 25% to 35% of retail price and rarely does it go past 50% of retail price on any item so most auction purchases are a great deal and this allows your dollars to go a lot further buying from auction!
